tuna fish question

OK so I really LOVE tuna fish but I think the kind in the little packets is WAYYYY better than the canned kind. However it is kind of expensive and they don't usually have it where I live (Managua). In fact I never saw it here until today. They actually have the packages of chunk light tuna in water but they are 1kg (seriously) packages!! Pretty cheap too- about $4 for 1 kg. So- does anybody know if you can freeze tuna fish? It seems to me that you should be able to, but since I have never seen frozen tuna for sale I kind of wonder.
