Hi,

I need to vent a little bit and air my feelings just to get it off my chest.

I'm getting so impatient with my weight loss, only started properly about a month or so ago, and so far have lost 3 pounds, I'm not seeing any changes, i want to look trim and nicely toned but I just dont see it. I hate looking in the mirror. I'm getting married in June which kick started my "diet" I want to start wedding dress shopping soon and won't until I'm much nearer my goal.

My goal is to get to roughly 133 lbs and I started at 142 ish (Lost 2lbs before joining this site) so I'm now 137. Most my weight is on my belly and whilst I can feel the muscle firming up there is a load of fat covering it.!!!!! The 3lbs I've lost seem to have come from other places not where it needs to

I just feel like Ugh... I know that weight loss is a slow process when done properly but I wish it would speed up and reveal a nice flat tummy.....

I eat approx 1200--1400 calories a day (i struggle to eat more because I'm usually full up on this, unless i eat loads of cr@p) I do the 30DS daily plus an additional 10 minutes of sit ups to try tone my tum. I walk a lot because I don't drive.

Any tips to speed this up? I'm 5ft 6" by the way.

Also if there's anyone with similar goals, friend me, I need the support i guess.

Thanks for listening, I hate to winge but this is really getting me down... x

You shouldn't want to speed things up. If you have lost around 3 pounds in a month and you are already light and at a healthy weight, then that's perfect. People who are already at healthy weights have much more difficulty losing weight because we go into danger of losing muscle weight if we try to speed things up.

I think you are doing great! Just keep plugging along doing what you are doing, and you will get there. I hope to lose 3 pounds in the next 3 weeks or so, too.

remember quick fixes wont do you any favours afterwards, 3lbs is a great amount to lose, but again because your around your healthy weight already if you want to tone up more you will need to up your exercise quite vigerously.

try doing more interval training, 30day shred is a great workout but try using heavier weights and really push yourself harder.

good luck, and congrats on the wedding xx

    Hi there!

I started with very similar stats to you. I'm 5'6 and I was originally around 145 pounds and over the past 5 months I've dropped down to around 128. I tend to hover between 128 and 130. To be honest the first 10 pounds were quite easy, but the last 5-10 pounds were the hardest and I'm just now starting to see some real results.

    Here's what worked for me:

Upped my calories. I dropped my weight loss goal per week to 0.5 pounds and that allowed me around 1700 calories or so. I found this really helped toward the end.

I upped the intensity of my workouts. I used to do 30 DS, Ripped in 30, etc, but I found it wasn't really giving me the results I wanted. I started doing workouts on Bodyrock.tv and HIIT. The workouts are shorter, but much more intense and I'm really seeing results. I can already feel my endurance increasing, been noticing it on my runs. I'm getting stronger and I'm really seeing changes in my body.

Be patient though, it's very difficult to lose the last few pounds and often it really takes a change to what you're doing. If you're not willing to increase your calories, which some people don't want to do, then I would switch up your exercise routine. Maybe switch to some Pilates to work your core instead of sit-ups (check out POP Pilates on Youtube) and maybe alternate 30DS with some HIIT and some bodyweight exercises.

Feel free to friend me if you like. Also, if you want any more specific suggestions you're more than welcome to message me for some ideas.

    Good luck!

a pound a week is a healthy amount of wgt loss. If you go any faster, the faster it will be for you to gain it back. Do some cross training like wgts for muscle building and toning. When youre close to a 'healthy weight' the longer and harder it is to lose the last of those stubborn pounds. You may just have to bump your workouts up a notch
