Weight Training "Credit" Calories

Why do you not get any additional calories for weight/strength training? I have always thought a pound of muscle burns more calories then a pound of fat... Some days I just can't get on the treadmil and only lift weights. Those days I seem to be hungrier then the days I do cardio yet I can't get those extra "Credit" calories... Am I doing something wrong with my tracking?

Go under cardio and type in Lifting weights It does come up there. I think the strength section is for keeping track of weights, repitions, sets,.... That's my take on it anyway.

I also put in my weight training as Cardio, but I don't eat back my calories burned either way.

Yeah, there is an option under the cardio exercises for strength training or circuit training, so you can get some of those extra calories back!

That's what I do too! It doesn't look like you've burned many calories "just" doing strength training, but the end result - burning more calories at rest and seeing a tighter, firmer body - is the best payoff!

The only time I really do weights is with my trainer, and we mix cardio with weights. I log it all as cardio because I'm sweating and huffing the whole time :)

Thank you all for your responses... Kinda feel silly that I did not try that... Just logged in yesterdays workout and got 295 calories for 45 min. I normally train 45 min to an hour of weights 4 times a week... now I feel better... Thanks again....
