what do i eat all day when i have a race at night?

So I'm signed up for an indoor triathlon at my Y this friday night at 6:30. what should I eat throughout the day? I'm guessing mostly carbs and protein but how much? and how close to the event?

    Carbs are what you need! Spaghetti, potatoes, sweet potatoes.... You will feel better if you keep eating stuff that is easy for you to digest during the day. As for how long before you race you should stop eating is going to take some experimenting on your part. I couldn't eat for a few hours before I raced when I was in shape. Others were eating right up to race time.
