I need some ideas for quick, healthy snacks, breakfast food and lunches for weekdays. It seems we are always on the run or in a hurry in the mornings. I usually drink a smoothie of some kind for breakfast but I am starving by 9, take lunch around 1 which has been consisting of salad because its the quickest and its sooo freaking hot here so by the time I get home and make dinner I am starving and tend to over eat. Today I brought a sandwich for a change with cucumber slices and grapes. (which are about to get eaten for a snack cause I am hungry. I need quick filling foods to get me through the day and that will help me from over eating at night.

I eat an egg beaters omelet with fat free cheese every morning.

Then, at lunch, I make a salad with prewashed lettuce mix and some grilled chicken ( BJS wholesale has these pre cooked and frozen..150 cal each) and light dressing.

Then, I take an extra chicken breast and eat it at about 3:30 or 4:00pm so that I am not starving and hurting by the time I get home.

and I have a regular dinner usually something off the grill and some veggies.

Fruit or popcorn for snacks later.

    Works great for me!

For lunch, I eat 3 ounces of low sodium lunch meat with 1 slice of reduced fat cheese. I wrap it in a 100 calorie wrap with a little bit of deli mustard, and I eat a banana on the side. It is VERY filling.

For breakfast, I can't do smoothies - I feel like I'm not getting enough and am starving by 10. I usually have yogurt with 1/2 cup of Kashi (either Go Lean or Go Lean Crunch). I sometimes get hungry around 10 or 11 so I have a banana. That usually puts me at about 350 cals by lunch but it's really filling.

For lunch, I like to bring a piece of bread with me to work and have a tuna packet. Starkist has flavored tuna packets and I love them all. I also keep some Morning Star patties in our freezer for a quick lunch.

Fruit and veggies are always quick snacks. I also keep some nuts in my desk for that afternoon attack.
