I haven't stopped once at my favorite homemade ice-cream place all summer, but since I KNOW that they'll be closing soon, I stopped today and got an almond joy ice-cream cone.
I SHOULD probably feel alittle guilty. I'm sure there were TONS of calories in it! I got the smallest size they had, but it was pretty darned big! And OHHHHHHH, SOOOOOOOOO GOOD!
The great thing about this site (besides the fact that it's free!) is that NOW I know to exercise more, and watch whatever else I'm going to eat today, and I CAN treat myself every now and then and NOT feel guilty!

Absolutely, Bren-- you got it. Bottom line is to be aware of what we're eating and exercising. I'm not going to NEVER have ice cream, either, but like you I'll save it for when it's so stinkin' yummy it's going to be worth the calories, NOT just because it's something sweet in the house that I "have to have" because it's there.

You've lost 36 pounds and are "thisclose" to goal, you you obviously "got" it-- way to go.

Almond joy ice cream sounds yummy!!!

I think just being AWARE, like you are makes all the difference....you thought about it first, got the smallest ice cream and are planning a workout!!! Good for you!! That is some self control.....plus if we didn't treat ourselves occasionally what fun would that be.....right?

Aww, thanks! I DO "have it" as you said, because thanks to MFP, seeing my numbers and "working" for what I want to eat does the trick! My 36 pounds have "almost" been easy to lose! Every day I'm amazed that it HAS come off as easily as it has. I wish the same for everyone else too!

Thank you! There WAS a TINY bit of guilt, until I got home and walked some of it off, and then alittle later danced the rest of it off! (HOPEFULLY!)

Same here! Stopped by Reimer's Ice Cream Shoppe in the Sequoias area of Calif and it's FRESH. Chocolate chip, 1 scoop. Worth every calorie. We hiked for an hour and a half on the trails, so it's taken care of calorie-wise. :)

Yummy, wasn't it! There's NOTHING better than Ice-cream! It's my FAVORITE thing in life! My husband thinks it's HIM, but, he comes in second every time!
Because I love ice-cream so much, thank goodness for Edy's slow churned no sugar added ice-cream! I make sure to save numbers almost every night so that I can have some! You can hardly tell the difference from the real thing! Well, at least I COULDN'T, until today when I DID have the real thing!
