Ok...this is a very sensitive subject for me. I don't normally tell anyone this but I trust I can be honest.

I am a marijuana addict and smoke in many times a day. I have been a addict for about twenty four years now. I have been trying to stop so much, if anything, for my health. Phew.....alright...now that's out. I quit smoking cigarettes but can't seem to stop smoking marijuana.

My question is one that you might not be able to answer.
I have been eating well (which is a 360 from how I used to eat) and exercising very often for nearly 40 days now.. However, I am not loosing as much weight as I should be.
At this point, I am pretty confident that it is the marijuana that is making this impact on my weight loss. There is no way I should not be loosing more weight. I quit smoking marijuana before for about three weeks and dropped weight like crazy. I lost nearly 10 pounds in that three weeks.
What is your opinion? Do you think it is the marijuana preventing me from loosing weight? Maybe because THC is stored in the fat cells of the body?
I tried to Google this issue but the only thing I get is that the munching makes you gain weight. That's not the answer I am looking for. I am eating 1/4 of the calories I was consuming.

Please, don't judge me. I know it's stupid. I know I am stupid for doing it. Although, if you have some words of wisdom that might help me stop, they are more than welcome.
I just want everyone's opinion. :)

Thanks to everyone in advance!!!!!

I have to ask... You said you have been an addict for 24 years yet you are only 31 years old... You started smoking pot at 7 years old???

sometimes things work in a way that you cant explain, or google doesnt shed much light on.

If you find that smoking less/nothing, makes you lose weight, and you dont lose when youre smoking it, then that kind of gives you your answer.

I think its very difficult to give something up thats become a way of life. is it possible to cut down to just one before bed, or one when you get in from work or something to de-stress, and then the rest of the time find other coping mechanisms to get through the day. Maybe try some relaxation techniques?

My Fiance has RLS and smokes every night about an hour before bed. Marijuana is the only thing that settles his legs and allows him to sleep. I usually partake with him and it hasn't had any affect on my weight loss. I don't smoke anywhere near as much as you so idk if the amount you smoke changes it. As long as you can keep a handle on your munchies, I don't see why it should affect your weight loss. If you do get munchies, grab some carrot sticks or snap peas... Or other healthy options like that.

I strongly believe pot does not prevent weight loss.

THC is indeed stored in the fat cells, but it doesn't magically change the fat to prohibit it from being released. Fat is fuel, that's all. It needs to be burned off. The only correlation between the THC and the amount of fat in your body is that the more fat, the longer the THC stays in there.

I don't know for sure...but I know alcohol slows the metobolism process of food and calories, so maybe marijuana does too? When I don't drink for awhile I tend to lose a lot faster.
