Today I've started to suffer with a bad cold and I'm feeling very blergh I'm starting a new job on monday, which is 7am-4pm everyday and I want to feel fresh and well for it! What is the best way to feed a cold? Any particular foods that will help me get rid of this cold asap?

Yuck, sorry. I'm just starting to recover from my cold today, here's what I've been doing to keep it in check:
- Drink plenty of water, more than MFP's 8 cups a day if you can manage.
- No dairy, it makes the congestion worse.
- Cut back on sugar, too, I've found that it makes me feel a lot worse during a cold.
- Eat a lot of nutrient-rich vegetables, and be sure to get a lot of vitamin C.0 -
Whenever I start to come down with cold symptoms I eat a grapefruit, drink gallons of water, then have my regular meal with some tea and honey and then take as many naps as I can.
Unfortunately with colds (assuming you mean the rhinovirus) you really just have to let it run its course. The vitamin C and honey and making sure you let your body rest and eating the nutrients necessary for a healthy immune system will help your immune system do its best, but ultimately, you'll have to wait it out.0 -
Thanks guys! Will definitely start taking a lot more water on board!
The tea and honey actually sounds very nice, I will be trying that tonight! thanks0
