In order to be truly happy, you need to be happy with yourself first. You need to accept your faults, not dwell on them, change what you can, and love yourself.

    "Just do it."

Scared? Do it anyway. Unsure? It's good to try.

I've been a procrastinator most of my life. Always dreaming, planning, even mapping things out but never executing plan. Always scared to make myself vunerable to possible failures. Or self-concious. I've learned many lessons, but this one is still changing my life.

Lately I’ve been observing the people in my life that “participate” in life, versus those who “watch it from the sidelines.” I see a big difference in the happiness, stress levels, positive energy and attraction of greatness in the lives of those who truly participate.

A few of my friends are a great inspiration to me as I see their lives falling into place exactly how they want it to. They are wonderful examples of the “create your great life” philosophy and are active participants of life. These people are working in meaningful jobs of their choice, living in spacious and comfortable environments that they can afford, in great relationships with their friends and families and involved in various extracurricular activities from co-ed sports leagues, to bbq’s on the weekends, attending concerts, creating work social events and more. They feel happy, abundant, fulfilled, grateful, appreciative, joyful, rich, happy, healthy and joyful on a daily basis. They understand the meaning of the quote, “Life is about enjoying the journey, not the destination.”

20 Quick Ideas for “GOING OUT AND DOING” vs “SITTING BACK AND WATCHING” :
    1. Say yes.
    2. Think “Yes I can” instead of “No I can’t”
    3. Get support: create a community.
    4. Be of service.
    5. Open up.
    6. Take people up on dinner plans, drinks, social gatherings, weekend plans.
    7. Plan a reunion with old friends, work friends, family.
    8. Invite people over for a weekend BBQ, pool party, cocktail hour, game night.
    9. Plan a gathering outside of your home: bowling, drinks at a bar, movie night out, girls/boys night out.
    10. Make a list of your hobbies and GET INVOLVED.
    11. Join a pick-up sports team that plays once a week.
    12. Train for a marathon with a running group.
    13. Join a book club.
    14. Live passionately.
    15. Go to a fitness class.
    16. Take lunch and do something social.
    17. Invite friends over for a casual dinner party.
    18. Host a cooking class.
    19. Be spontaneous and whimsical.
    20. Take chances.
The point is, there is something out there to do for EVERYONE to make life more enjoyable. With the internet at our fingertips and technological luxurious surrounding our everyday lives, it’s easy to gain a false sense of belonging and enjoyment. The people who feel the best about life, who are more optimistic, attract greatness, feel less stress, happier, make more money, are in supportive and loving relationships, and truly enjoy waking up each day are those who participate in life.

Thinking from “I can’t” to “I CAN” will make all the difference
