Hello All!
I've been using the MFP app on my phone for about a week now and am trying to stay motivated by using the site here. I do well with calories and portion control for breakfast and lunch but not once I'm home for dinner. I'd like to change that and I hope to find the support here that I don't have right now.

welcome! I found a lot of support here! Dinner was always my down fall and i hated working out but NOW i feel like a work out junkie and constantly looking for foods to fill my days!0

Hi and welcome! I'm pretty new here too. Feel free to add me as a friend. Maybe we can motivate each other!
I find that the evening time is the time that I get bored, and because of that I want to pick. So I pick on things that will give me more bang for my buck. I'll get some sugar free freeze pops, or celery since they're both kind of crunchy and that will help satisfy my "wants".0 -
Welcome! Dinner is often a hard meal for me also (but really snacks are my hardest--and favorite--"meal"), but what's helped me a lot is to plan my dinners ahead of time, usually the night before. It's time-consuming, a pain, and drives my husband crazy, but it works well for me. Good luck and feel free to friend me.0

I track on my phone as well, for exercise and for food. I love the convenience. I find that breakfast and lunch are easier times for me too, but supper is when I am tired, and often not feeling like cooking, and most likely to reach for food that is a poor choice. There are a couple of things I have found that help this for me.
One is to have easy suppers planned, so I can literally toss a wrap together, and pop it on a plate with some veggies or salad..
Another is to eat supper early enough to have the food digestion well underway before I go to bed. This helps me to wake up with an appetite, and a good breakfast makes me hungry for a good lunch, so that by dinner I am not famished!
And my last trick if that doesn't appeal, try yogurt and fruit or some sort of snack late in the afternoon to take the edge off your evening meal.
Wishing you luck!!!0
