Hi all
Thinking of joining the new 'no-frills' gym TheGymGroup.com in Leeds, but they're quite new and struggling to find any reviews... Anyone on here a member? Would you recommend?
Thanks
Claire

I WAS a member and yes it is very good value- but I think the fact that it was so cheap, as well as being quite a souless place with no other facilities (classes/pool etc) on offer I was just never motivated to go. Apparently now though some places are offering spinning classes etc but you need to pay extra.
Funnily enough it's only since joining an expensive gym/health club a few months ago that I am genuinely motivated to go. I was worried about the cost but I have been determined to get my money's worth and go 4-5 times a week mostly, and no less than 3 times.
The Gym is great if you are a very motivated person or don't mind a room purely full of machines- like I said you can't argue with the cost.0 -
I don't know about that gym but I'm with keiraev all the way. When I pay more I am more motivated to go. I'm just using my treadmill at home at the minute but i'm going to re-join my gym soon so i can start all the classes up (and get swimming!)0

Thanks both
I guess it may well suit me. Due to our working patterns / childcare I'd only be able to go to a gym in town for an hour at a time which would only give me time to use machines anyway and I wouldn't take advantage of 'extras' like sauna/pool.
I'd only be able to take advantage of that kind of thing on a weekend around once a week so not prepared to pay big money for something I'd only be able to use that infrequently.
Unless anyone gives me feedback that it's unfriendly / you can never get on a machine / it's full of 'muscle mary's and a bit intimidating then I'll probably go for it... I can always cancel it if I find I don't like it as there's no fixed contract! I know they do some classes there too, which I might be able to get along to depending on what time they are

Yeh I forgot to say the no contract thing is good. If u want to stop u just cancel the direct debit.0

I read about these recently. Sadly there isn't one near me - I would definitely give it a go! With no fixed contract what have you got to lose?! Let us know how you get on0
