Has anyone else noticed that the dancers on this DVD in particular are more "realistic" and voluptuous? I LOVE it! So many times on workout DVDs you get people who all look the same, tan with a 6pack..I am loving the fact that I am watching these REAL people dancing & getting fit and my kids even commented on it :) And its nice being able to show my 10 yr old daughter that there are fit people of all sizes (she works out with me almost every day.)

BUT, I do think I need a personal Flamenco trainer lol as Jose's routine does me in every time!

I dont have it on the Kinect, however I do also have Zumba for the Wii and while it is not easy, I think that anyone can do it. You start out with a 20 min Beginner session..and then as you get better, you unlock tougher levels/dances to do :) I know that personally, a 20 mins Beginner Level has me sweating tho ;)

The Zumba for Kinect is a great concept, but poorly exexuted. The kinect technology was not well utilized for this particular "game". It does not track your body well at all and its very hard to follow as they only show you a vauge outline of what you are supposed to be doing, instead of a full animated modle. Even if you are familiar w/ zumba, its more frustrating than fitness. I recommend finding a local class and doing that instead.

I absolutely LOVE Zumba, but I can't afford to take the classes as much as I'd like. I borrowed a friend's game for the Wii & didn't like it. I want the DVDs, but at like $85 - $100, eeeek. Anyone have any they wanna sell? lol

LOL they are expensive, you are right - however, they ARE better than the Wii game (IMO) and i Have both sets of the newer sets now..as it isnt very affordable for me to drive half an hour to go to class and besides the gas money also have to pay for the class. If you truly want them, just set aside $10 a week or even less if thats all you have, and in no time in all you will have the money! :) And since the new Zumba Exhiliarate is out now, I bet you could get the previous version for next to nothing on Amazon - They are great DVDs!

I'm currently taking 2 Zumba classes a week at $6 a class. It's not horrible, but it's like $48 a month & it's not like it includes a gym membership or anything. One of my classes is going to be toning soon, so we will need the weights... so really, the Zumba Exhilarate isn't a horrible price when you factor in that you're getting the $20-25 weights with them (though my instructor sells hers for $15). I'll have to try putting some extra money aside or seriously considering joining a gym..... I just know that I'll miss the ladies & instructor in my current Zumba class! Tough choices to make here! I could join the Y though for $41 a month & would be able to make 3 of the Zumba classes offered there a week, plus everything else. Tough choices!!

I've just done my first session with the DVD and man, it made me SWEAT! It also got my heart pumping, and it was really fun and ejoyable. I did it for 60 minutes and burned 748 calories!

I can't afford to go to the classes, and they're also about 20km away from me so I have to settle with staying at home and doing it, but it's still fun regardless.
  • WOW 6 bucks a class? too rich for my blood LOL! my class is 2 bucks...i tried on the wii its fun... but not the same with a class filled with diverse sizes of woman...motivates you!
