Salt Alternatives

i LOVE salsa i eat it every day BUT i limit myself b/c of the salt i add in my recipe...not adding salt is not an option b/c it does ad a great ZING...are there any alternatives in salsa recipes in place of salt?

I have heard of trying NOSalt but it will leave an after taste, lemon and lime juice are all ready in my recipe and seasonings like Mrs.Dash wont work b/c i dont want all the extras...sooo im out of ideas any one got any new ones?

    Try using some low sodium salt products (Mortons lite salt for example). If you start using less salt, you will find you don't need as much. Salt is addictive, the more you eat, the more you need to keep eating to get it to taste the same. You may find your current recipe starts getting too salty over time!

    RedGold brand salsa is the lowest sodium I've found on the market, and it's pretty good :) I use Salt Sense at home, but it's only 1/3 of the sodium. I don't like the potassium substitutes either.

    I use Himalayan Crystal Salt. This taste just like regular salt except that is contains 84 trace minerals so that you are also getting some health benefits by consuming it. It is the only salt I use when cooking, I even keep a bottle in my purse so I have it on hand.
