Hi All! I'm new to MFP and I am confused about calories vs. net calories. I usually eat back some of my exercise calories but not all. Is that ok? Thanks for any clarification you can give.

Net calories are your total calories taken in minus your exercise calories. For instance if you have ate 1300 calories but have exercised 300 of them, then your net is 1000. Your net should be @ least 1200 so that your body won't go into starvation mode.0

Yeah, that's fine. You shouldn't eat back all of them, as the calorie deficit is what makes you lose weight, but what you're doing is fine.0

So if I eat back all of the calories I lost then I won't lose weight? Is that correct?0
