Eating the same thing every day

Was wondering if eating the same lunch and breakfast every day will hurt my weight loss? I know if you don't change up your exercise, your body gets used to it and stalls but what about eating the same food? I just have this routine and it works for me but several people have told me I should change it up.

If it ain't broke - don't fix it!! If you hit a plateaux then definitely look to making some changes, but until then just enjoy what you are doing. :flowerforyou:

It's not bad in and of itself, but people tend to preach variety just to ensure you get the nutrients you need. And it gets boring. But it won't affect weight loss.

I have the same for breakfast every morning and a very similar lunch Monday to Friday when I'm at work but then have different stuff for lunch at the weekend, as I'm usually a bit more active at the weekend I tend to eat more calories and have higher calorie foods eg grated cheddar cheese with my baked potato. I also have a treat at the weekend - 4 hand made chocolates/marzipans. So far I am still losing but only been doing it for a few weeks, so may have to do some changing later I don't know.

I am very much a creature of habit and routine, that also includes what I eat. I have lost 40 lbs and maintained that loss for over a year, all while eating just about the same thing every day!!! Oatmeal for breakfast and salad or turkey sandwich for lunch. Dinner is the only meal that gets changed up!!
    Good luck!!

Only thing I have found is if you get bored eating something you are more likely to take an opportunity to go out to eat instead.

No it does not hurt.... it is the calorie total that matters not the variety.

I eat 1 of 4 different cereals for breakfast and the same luch most day.

I have variety in dinner and night snacking, but that's it. I keep the breakfast and lunch each ~ 1/4 of my calories. Having it the same thing every day makes it easy to pack and I have put a lot of though into maximizing my lunch to get fruit, protein, carbs, calcium. The other benefit of the same thing every day is that you can save it as a meal and enter it with one click.

I eat the same meals a lot during the week. It's easier for the weekly grocery shopping, and taking food to work each day. If I really like something, it takes a long time for me to get bored with it!

I eat the same foods many times per week...two reasons - I cook a big batch of whatever once a week and eat on it the remainder and secondly, it's hard to find food combinations that fit my nutrition/calorie/carb/fat requirements.

No worries. I eat the same thing for breakfast every day. For lunch and dinner I stick to the proven basics: lean protein, vegetables, fruit, whole grains. I did reach a sustained plateau when I was within 5-7lbs. of reaching my goal so I upped my calories by 100 per day and stuck with that for 3 weeks and the weight started dropping again. I'm in maintenance now.

I eat the same or very similar things for breakfast and lunch almost every day.
