Hi
Is anyone else out there doing the Dukan diet? I am on the cruise phase and finding it hard to eat enough calories. Also quiet tired which I think is connected.

Me! I am on it too. I have to eat 6 meals a day just to get my calories in mostly boiled eggs. How have you done with your weight loss? I am not tired, I was doing the c25k and walking a lot, but in the 8th week I quit with that program and started running extra miles. 4 miles then 6 miles, I am actually sticking with 6 miles for a little while and building speed.0

I've lost 12 lb (5 in first week) and then about 1lb a week. I exercise a fair bit but am SO tired! Think I need a bit more variety too as getting fed up of ham and cottage cheese!0

I bought the book and decided I didn't want to do it after all. I felt it was basically the same as the way I used to crash diet. I would eat lean protien only for awhile and gradually allow more vegtables but very few carbs, fats or sugars. Anytime I did it I would lose 5-10 lbs and then gain it right back. I just felt after I read the book that it would be similar and I would gain any weight I lost back. Good luck, though! Seems to have worked for Kate Middleton, anyway!0

I also have started that diet. I am still in the attack phase and today should be my last day. I noticed I was also tired from lack of carbs or it could have been TOM and/or stress related factors. Eating enough calories is also hard for me and I need to push myself to eat more food throughout the day. I found that I was hungry about 45 minutes after I ate, which was so annoying since I felt like if I ate any more then I would be sick. Still exerpience that sometimes- what about you? I agree about eating the 6 meals a day since that may be the only solution to getting enough calories. I am looking foward to adding in veggies again that would provide some variety in snacks.
So far I have lost 6 pounds since Monday.
Are you concerned about the rapid weight loss?0 -
I haven't been tired at all. I lot 10 pounds in my Attack phase! I think mostly because I was beginning running too. What types of meat are you eating. I eat lean red meat, chicken, tuna, eggs, oat bran, and make a good variety to be sure to get plenty of iron. Your iron may be low depending on what you are eating a lot of. I am loving the Dukan, never knew how addicted to carbs I was until I have been on this diet for 2 months now. If I ate simple carbs, I would crave more and more simple carbs. Now I don't crave at all. I eat to get my calories and nutrition I need and that is it.0

I haven't done Dukan, but I did Atkins. I'm not sure how many carbs you guys are allowed, but I know when I was in the initial phase of Atkins I was soooo tired for the first few days while my body got rid of the carbs. After that, I had so much more energy than normal. I say give it time and if it doesn't improve then you should reevaluate.0 -
The iron thing has crossed my mind as well. I am eating more red meat that I normally do, chicken, tuna and turkey. I also started taking a multi-vitamin which should help.0

Today is my 9th day on the Dukan diet. I really only need to lose about 10 pounds so I only had to complete a 2 day attack phase, which I was incredibly thankful for because I am a vegetarian. The chart said I would lose about 1.6 pounds but I lost 3.5 pounds during my 2 day attack. I've since gone from a starting weight of 128ish to about 123.5 and that was only after 5 days on the diet. I take a multivitamin, a chewable vitamin C, and an iron pill. On the days I forget to take those, I feel very light and almost dizzy. I love this diet so far and I can't wait for my first "celebration meal" on or around 7/15!0

Well done! I think its really hard when you don't have much to lose and evey 1lb seems a mountain!
I'm on cruise now and really relish the P+V days.
Even introduced a sneaky glass of wine occasionally to bump up my calorie intake.0
