Is your goal to lose one or 1.5 pounds a week?

How is it going for you? I just recently changed mine to 1.5 pounds a week and it didn't go so well! I went over! I'm not sure if I should move it back to one pound a week or adjust my habits.

My goal is 1 lb. a week. The last few weeks I have lost a little less than 1 lb. each week.

My goal is 1 lb a week. I aim for a daily deficit of 500, but can only get 300 on non-workout days.
On my workout days, I consume 1400-1450 calories. On my off days (which is Saturday and Sunday) I aim for 1200-1300 calories.

I use a different site to track my food and activity. It's so much easier since I don't have to worry about exercise calories. It's already accounted into my daily burn when I add my workout.

just 1 lb./week is safest and most attainable over a time. In reality you may drop a bit more than that, especially in the beginning.

My goal is 1 pound / week -- I am averaging between 0.5 and 1 pound per week. Right now, I am in a "9 pound plateau" -- gaining some then losing some, but on average I'm OK at 1 pound per week. I still have a ways to go.

How close are you to your goal?

My goal is 1 lb a week, and I'm averaging about 1.5. I do a bit of walking on my lunch break, and this is helping, I think, because I don't log it or if I do, I still eat the same. If I just eat my recommended calories, I lose pretty close to the 1 lb a week.

I want to keep eating like this when I've hit my target range, so I'll just increase a little to maintain, and the lessons learned from losing will keep me on track.

My goal is set to 1 lb. but I would love to do more! I usually try and put a little more exercise in a day that I don't log (if i hit my goal for the day) but for a little extra boost :)

My goal is to lose about ten pounds I weigh 135 and am 5'5 . Should I change it back? what's your guys' opinion..... It makes me sad when I go over:( Do you think 1,250 isn't sustainable?

my goal is 1.5-2 pounds a week because that is losing at a healthy pace. Quick weight loss doesn't last and doens't give your body time to adjust to the new "you" .

My goal is 2 pounds, but I normally lose around 1.5 pounds a week because I don't always stay within my calorie limits.

you should look at this post: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/181080-mfp-s-most-common-user-pitfall-to-avoid?hl=so+there+are+my+credentials&page=1#posts-2404122

He talks about the goal to lose per week: "2 lbs a week is a goal designed for obese people, and people with large fat stores. The less fat you have to lose, the smaller your deficit should be."

It sounds like you're pretty close to goal weight since you only want to lose 10 pounds. The closer that you get to your goal weight the harder it is to lose. You might want to start with a goal of 0.5 pound / week -- the weight might come off slower, but it will be less frustrating.

I am at 1 pound / week, since I have quite a bit more to go (25 pounds). As I get closer (like the last 10 pounds), I will probably go with 0.5 pounds / week.

Since I'm not overweight shouldn't my deficit be larger? I feel like overweight people lose weight easier and at a quicker pace. I might need more for my body to chaange?

My goal is 2 lbs/week. Thus far, it's going well, but I have quite a bit to lose.

I set mine at 2 pounds and kept going over my 1200 calories. Shocker, right, considering I love food and probably used to eat 2500 calories a day. I realized after 'failing' for a couple of weeks that this was stupid and unrealistic so I set it at maintenance for a week (1850 calories) to get used to eating less and to feel like I was succeeding. I can't remember how much I lost during that week but I was losing, and feeling better cuz I was staying under. Then I set it for 1/2 pound loss (1600 calories) and kept losing. After a couple of weeks at that, I felt I was ready to go lower so now I'm at 1 pound a week (1350 calories) and am doing okay with it but it's definitely tougher cuz I haven't been exercising much so I don't have those extra calories to eat.

I am still losing about a pound a week and I'm happy with that because:
1 I like my food and don't want to be hungry,
    2 I don't like to exercise,
3 I need to have realistic manageable habits that I can maintain for a long time, and
4 I recognize that losing weight slower might help me to keep it off

I sometimes get antsy and wish I could get thinner faster but I have to keep it realistic and stick with what I can do without being miserable and cranky and hungry all the time, cuz as we all know, when mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!

1.5 but I've been losing closer to 2.5. I think my BMR is higher than MFP thinks it is.
