Looks like I'm hitting the gym longer tonight than I thought :sick:

    Although beans are good for you they can add calories. Same with beef. It would be one thing to eat a half a cup of it, but if you eat a bowl and then add anything, Yikes!

    Oh well the exercise will feel good.

    Try using ground turkey and/or chicken with organic beans. The calories are lower and it's better for you. Mix in fresh veggies with low sodium chili mix or make your own making sure to use Sea Salt vs Regualr. If you are worried about iodine in the salt Nortons sells sea salt with and without iodine. Looking for alternates for the foods we love can be very difficult at times but suggestions are always out there. Try food network and allreceipes web site for more suggestions.

    You're not the only one to make that mistake! :smile:

    I used to make a low fat chili all the time because I thought I was "being good". Turns out beans have a crazy amount of calories! :sad:

    Beans do have a lot of calories but if you need to increase protein this is a good way to do.
