Stop beating yourself up....
So today has started out rocky. I turned my alarm off and went back to sleep for an hour. I was tired and my whole body aches. I chose to do this instead of getting up and doing my biggest loser before going to work. I felt great about the decision at the time. I have been working really hard and just feel like I needed a break from full body action today. I knew I am walking to work today, so I will get exercise in, just giving those muscles a break. So how come when I did get up, I started to panic? Why did I sleep in, now I am going to gain all my weight back. Your lazy and you will never reach your goals. This is the kind of monologue running through my mind. What the hell? I have been doing great. Skipping one workout to give my poor sore muscles a break is not the start of a 6 month slide. This is what would happen to me in the past. However, I am not that same person anymore. Just because I eat a piece of chocolate or skip one workout does not mean I have to give up. I will continue to lead a healthy lifestyle and I will continue to move closer to my goals! I have reached many goals this year. I am going to list them here and the ones I have not reached yet for accountability, so here goes.
Goals:
January 2011- Go to my doctors and find out the true state of my health by getting tests, bloodwork etc. COMPLETED
February 2011- Schedule two surgeries- Ablasion and Gastric Sleeve. Do any neccesary testing, meetings etc. COMPLETED
March 2011- Start pre-op diet and get Ablasion. COMPLETED
April 2011- Get Gastric Sleeve and start exercising regularly. COMPLETED
May 2011- Continue with diet and exercise and lose weight while on vacation instead of gaining. COMPLETED
June 2011- Get a part time job. Start exercising more intensely.
July 2011- Cut down electronic and tv use to one hour per day.
August 2011- Get a bike and start cycling. Build up to 5 miles, 3 times per week.
September 2011- Sign up to be a substitute teacher and reapply to Stockton State College for the Spring semester.
October 2011- Face the halloween season with happiness instead of fear. Teach my kids to eat candy in moderation.
November 2011- Run the Holly Jolly Run 5k race.
December 2011- Reflect on the past year, how far I have become, and set goals for next year.
Weight loss goals!
Goal 1: Get back to January weight before surgery. Close- within 5 pounds
Goal 2: Lose 40 pounds. (1/3 of my weight) Completed 5/11/11
Goal 3: Lose 60 pounds. (1/2 of my weight) Completed 6/24/11
Goal 4: Get to one-derland!
Goal 5: Lose 80 pounds (2/3 of my weight)
Goal 6: Lose 120 pounds (Goal weight)
I borrowed this from someone else's blog, but it really describes how I am feeling today!
The thought manifests as the word;
The word manifests as the deed;
The deed develops into habit;
And habit hardens into character;
So watch the thought and its ways with care,
And let it spring from love
Born out of concern for all beings…
As the shadow follows the body,
As we think, so we become.
