Hi so i have been out and about today wore my HRM whilst i was for 12 hours that i was moving 5 am til 5pm it has calcultaed that i burnt 1935 cals in that period now my MFP BMR is 1670 over a 24 hr period how do i work out how many cals i burnt from walking around... do i need to take my BMR and divide it by 24 to get my hour rate and then add 12 time 69 til my HRM total to get my daily for the day? ie total 2770 and then take my BMR away to get my net for the day?
I am so baffled as to how i work out what counts as extra today..please help i need to completed my diary for the day :)

From what I understand HRM's are only accurate when you are actually doing exercise.

Be careful trying to use HRM data over a long period of time like that. If there is any inaccuracy, it will be greatly inflated, such as 20 calories per hour extra would mean a total extra 240 calories. If you have your activity level on anything besides sedentary, I wouldn't even add it. If it is sedentary, I would maybe eat 200-300 extra, 500 if you feel like splurging.

I don't think the way you calculated is correct as your BMR for 12 hours should be 835, i.e. half your BMR for 24 hours. You would then take 1935 - 835 (total burned - base burn) = 1100 (extra burned). You can see this seems like a lot extra just for what sounds like a lot of walking around.

it was a who lot of walking around.. mile and miles and i am set to sedentary.
my BMR according to to MFP is 1670 thats what is shown on my BMR page and it says over a 24 hour period.
I chose my HRM as i could put walking slow in to MFP for 8 hours or so and i would get a huge number of extra cals as it is always loads over :(

1100 is fine as a long all day extra moving my butt around... :)

it is weird my BMR on here is 1670 but when i go to my goals my net for the day is 2090 and then they take 500 off to get my proper diet net goal for the day.. how do you get to 2090 from 1670 if i am set to 'sit on my bum not move every day'

Your BMR (base metabolic rate) is 2090 and then you take 420 off of that for your dietary loss. In this case it changes the original numbers, so now your 12 hour base burn is 1045, so your extra calories burned is 890. I would still suggest that you eat at most half of these.
