My name is Nikkeshia. I am 5' 0" and I've gained 40 pounds over a 3.5 year period. I decided to join MFP once I learned that exercise alone was not going to get me to my weight loss goal. I've been working out 5 days a week for the past 3 weeks without seeing any results. I really enjoy working out, but my diet is horrible. I have to remember that sweets are not my friend. Tracking my meals and exercise is a major factor for me. I have fallen in love with this site and I am looking forward to sharing this journey with all of you!

  • Hi, good luck with your journey. I have trouble with sugar,(it makes me crazy, only wanting more, and more and more,) Anyway started taking L-Glutamine found it at Wal-mart. to help with cravings. Also at Wal-mart a pill in the diabetic section called sugar blocker. I'm taking both and it really seems to help with cravings.

    Welcome Nikkeshia! yes this is a wonderful site. Sweets are my problem also. I have lost weight many times and sweets have always been the cause of my failures. I have a different attitude now - Track EVERYTHING -be honest with yourself - and fit something sweet in to take care of your sweet tooth. It's not about denial, it's about moderation! I'm down 35 lbs since Jan.1 and I am on my way to my goal of 80. Also, very important, PATIENCE. There's no deadline to meet time wise. Don't set your mini goals too high - 5 lbs a month is fine and easy to live with! Feel free to friend me and look at my food diary... I eat m&m's or ice cream daily.

    welcome. i am addicted to sweets and mountain dews. but i am trying to cut down on it. and yes i am pretty new to this site also. Enjoy

    Welcome! You can do it! Buy you a bag of Hershey's Dark Chocolate with almonds - nuggets. Eat 1 or 2 when you get a craving for something sweet.
