Hi, my name is Keri. I am 31 years old, a wife, and a mother to two wonderful kids ages 5 years and 2 years. I have struggled with my weight basically my whole life. I was an overweight kid, overweight teen, and then I turned into an obese adult after I moved out of the house. I started losing weight before we decided to have my son and have lost and gained over and over again since then. After I had my daughter, I finally decided enough was enough. So I started on my weight loss journey in January 2010 weighing in at 228 lbs. As of today I am weighing in at 164 lbs. I am 10 lbs away from being consider normal weight!!! That is a very big deal to me considering I have never been at that point anywhere in my life. I am very proud of my accomplishments but am reminded everyday that I still need that extra motivation I get from my friends and family. I find myself falling into some of my old habits, but no where near as bad as they used to be. I am addicted to sugar and I am trying to work on that. I do find myself leaning more toward the fruits and vegetables now though. Sometimes I get that sweet craving and instead of heading for candy I stop myself and go for the apple with some peanut butter. Baby steps, baby steps... hahaha...

Thanks everyone! I really like MFP! It helps so much tracking my food and exercise to visualize what I am actually doing during the day. I also love the message boards! They help keep me motivated and I enjoy meeting new people. :flowerforyou:
