Just introducing myself, I am new to this site. I am a nurse , mom, wife and urban farmer in NJ who is looking to get healthier and keeping myself accountable is how i plan to do it.
My exercise is yoga or gardening and I love to ride my bike.
Any other home gardeners out there say hi and lets talk tomatoes!!!

Welcome. I work a garden on my dad and step-mom's farm here in Tennessee. We planted about 30 tomato plants (near the house). My dad forgot to lock up his miniature goat so "Bucky" ate all the rest of the sprouting garden (down by the creek). Bucky is locked up in the pond area. Next week, we have to replant.0

Love the name, Serenity Farm. It invokes peace of mind immediately. Welcome and Hi! I'm a yoga person too. I used to be big into gardening but it's a heck of a lot of work. We have a kitchen garden but my husband is the farmer- I reap the rewards. :devil:0

I have always wanted to have enough land and the zoning for some chickens and a goat or two, but i keep hearing horror stories about goats eating all the veggies. Very cool that you have access to that much land and all those tomatoes. what do you do with them all?0

I love that your husband is the farmer in your house, that's good food and little effort, good plan.
I am new to yoga, but i miss it for one day and i can feel the difference. It is a good addiction as far as i am concerned.0 -
I love to garden and I love the results! Welcome to the forum. I'm jealous of the delicious fresh produce that you will have this summer!0

Thanks for the welcome SpongeBob  Yes we are going to have some serious produce this year.... I just gave a tour of the garden to a few neighbors encouraging them to stop by and take whatever basil, dill, or mint they wanted and promised to let them know when the garden would be open for tomato picking as well. Our backyard has become a stop on the neighborhood walks all spring and now in summer. It is so cool to meet neighbors you previously only waved to who are drawn in by the garden....
So if your near central NJ you are also welcome to drop in and pick your own!!!0 -
