misu soup super easy and low cal
I recently discovered misu soup. It so easy to personalize with low cal veggies like mushrooms, cabbage, etc.
Dashi stock powder is available on line and at local specialty markets. Using the powder is quicker and easier than alternate methods.
2 cups water
Heat to a slight boil with 2 teaspoons of Dashi stock powder
Add:
Cubed Extra Firm Tofu , 3.5 oz (85g) 93 calories
White or Red Miso Paste, 2 Tbsp 60 calories
Shirataki Tofu Noodles - Fettuccine Shaped Noodles, 1 container (8 oz ea.) 40 calories
Cabbage - Raw, 1 cup, chopped 21 calories
Heat through. Best served with chopsticks in a shallow bowl.
Total for a large quantity of a satisfying soup.... 214 calories.

Sounds yummy, but can you tell us what the sodium content is?
I keep my sodium intake under 1500mg a day so I don't retain water. This recipe, although low in calories, seems pretty high in sodium. Hopefully, I'm wrong. Thanks!

Miso paste contains 330-400 mg sodium per tablespoon, with white on the low end and red on the high end. Dashi stock powder contains 540 mg per teaspoon. So if you add the recommended amount of miso paste you will get 1100-1240 mg sodium in the whole batch.
The best part of this soup is that is super quick and you can add whatever veggies you want, so it can turn into 2-3 large servings depending on what add.... so divide the total sodium into a serving size...
Or you can just make certain things yourself..
