get's so dirty and greasy now from working out all the time, also myself who stinks right now. Though all the showers, like 2 a day sometimes is killing my hair dye and making my hair dryer, and yes i use all the nice hair products to try to get my locks nice and smooth. But have ya'll noticed since WE are working out more, more showers/baths are required?! Get's annoying, work out in the morning, shower, go on with my day, run/jog at night, another shower....LOL is it okay if i'm stinky for one day?! :blushing:

You could try coconut oil as a hair treatment if it's getting dried out. Also, try diluting your shampoo... I've found that 1 part shampoo 2 parts water still lathers up well and may not be as harsh for your hair.

I know what you mean! And who has time to do their hair 2 or 3 times a day? When I work out in the evenings, I just shower from the neck down (and face) and leave my hair alone. Just go the rest of the day with an up-do. Your natural oils are supposed to be good for your hair anyway.

I know some folks who swear by using conditioner only in their hair. Or there's non-sudsing shampoos.

I try to only wash mine every other day, and just rinse it on the in between days. Sometimes conditioning the ends if they're really dry.

I try not to wash my hair everyday. typically I wash it every day. Use a little conditioner mixed with water on the off days and you won't dry out your hair so much. I have longer hair so I put it up on the non wash day, too. Ponytail or something.

I was always a swimmer, so I'm used to it. The biggest thing I've learned. Spend money on your conditioner!!! Paul Mitchell makes really good anti-chlorine shampoos, but they aren't real great preserving the colour.

There's also a trick to HOW you shampoo. Shampoo should only be used on the roots of your hair, all the soapy goodness will run down the rest of your hair to clean it. Conditioner should only be applied at the ends. It will transfer when you rinse it with your hands. No more than a quarter size, it feels really odd at first to use so little, but it's really all it needs.

Dry shampoos are good for the "middle of the day" workouts so you can skip the shower (but please, for your coworkers, febreeze yourself or something!)

I have an oily scalp, but even I don't need to shampoo my hair twice a day even if I do need to take two showers. Especially since your hair is colored (mine's highlighted), you don't want to shampoo or dry it any more often than is necessary.

I find that washing it once is fine, and then post workout I can just rinse it thoroughly with water and recondition the lower half of it. Then I just put it up wet, rather than blow dry it again.

The other solution to this issue is to try to become a morning exerciser, so you go to the gym before your morning shower.

This is basically what I do. I workout before I get showered and dressed for the day in the mornings (even if it is only Yoga right now). At night after I workout (which is pretty much always when I won't be going anywhere but to bed after), I might only wash up with a washcloth, or just shower quickly without even touching my hair with products.

I don't wash my hair every day. And when I do, I wash and condition and let it air dry. I don't use a blow drier and I hate gunk in my hair, so I don't put anything in it. My hair is also naturally thinner, but I don't try to make it something it's not. I stopped dying my hair a long while ago as well.

The last time I went in to my hair dresser, she asked me what I did for my hair because it's "so healthy." I told her nothing. "Do you blow dry?" "Nope." "That makes sense."

I'm not going to say all, but most hair products don't tend to work to make your hair healthier or stronger. They can't get into the groves and areas they would need to, to do so... despite what they all promise.

:flowerforyou: I'm tempted to dye it again, but maybe i'll save that as a treat once I hit half way down to my goal, 11 pounds loss

I agree with those who said not to wash your hair in every shower. If my hair is damp from sweat I will let the roots get wet as i wash my face and back of my neck but I pull it back in a bun/ponytail and do not wash and condition my hair every time I shower.
I dont have the time and I wouldnt want to damage my hair with all that drying and styling.

I dont have any suggestions other than take your vitamins and use good products.

Suave makes a dry shampoo that is only around $3 and it smells kinda lemony and good. I actually have very fine hair so I like to use it to add volume as well.
