Hey guys. I'm Moni, and I just joined because I really need a supportive community. I'm trying to get down to 140-150 from 196.

I'm a 20 year old college student who's always had trouble with my weight. Recently my parents divorced, and my horrible habit of "emotional eating" really came out. I shot up to 215--I looked and felt horrible, and knew it was time for a change. So I tried dieting at home...however, my mother's constant comments of "You really do need to drop those pounds" and "You would be so much more attractive if you were just 20 pounds lighter" really made me go back to emotional eating. So I decided I need a community of fellow dieters to help me along the way.

    hi
  • Hi Moni :)

Good luck in your weight loss journey. I can totally relate because I too always hear "you should lose weight", "you should look like your sister", etc etc. My major motivation is my wedding next summer and that I want to look beautiful in my dress. I have been doing Weight Watchers with my coworker and in the past six weeks I have lost 10.5lbs and 9 inches overall. If I can lose the weight, so can you :)

Hey Moni.... No worries... you have come to the right place. MFP is great and the people are so supportive..so welcome and feel free to add me as a friend.. : )
  • Congrats on both the wedding and the weight loss! My major motivator right now is going back to school in August--I had to leave last year because of illness, and seeing everyone's reactions when I go back will be awesome.
  • Thank you so much!
