What are the effects of going over your protein? I am only half way through my day and I am over my protein by 16? Is this a big deal?

    No.

MFP slightly undercalculates protein needs. It's very common to go over.

I go over every day and I am losing. From everything I've seen, it's ok if it's healthy protein.
  • No - it is not bad - your body needs that extra protein when you are losing weight so that you are not losing muscle! A big mistake some people make when losing weight is not eating enough protein. Keep on doing what you are doing!

Many people have commented that this site's protien guideline is rather low. Unless you have kidney problems there is no real problem with going over protien. I would be more concerned if you are also going over in saturated fats at the same time. I tend to eat low fat so I'm normally way over on protien and under on fat.....not that big a deal.
