I have no waist.

I am realizing that I have no defined waistline. I guess I am built like my mother. I also noticed today, while trying on pants, that my last pregnancy left me with more stretch marks than I knew (I think because my fat filled them out).

So now, I fit into a size 12, but HATE the way they fit on me! The pant waists go SO FAR IN that they leave me with a muffin top, even though the butt and thighs fit great. Size 14 is huge on me and sags in the butt, but fits fine around the middle.

I tried on some size 13 in juniors and they fit...but they show my butt crack  I guess teens have no waist either, so they show off their rear.

I am feeling so deflated about this!! I am a size 12, but I'm not. It's kinda irritating me. Any ideas on pants!? I need some, quickly. My old pants just make me look awful.

Have you tried on jeans that have spandex/stretchy stuff in the denim? Maybe you can find a more flattering pair of 12s, that allow a little more room in the waist while still flattering your butt and thighs.

    Any specific brands?

I haven't worn real pants since before I was pregnant (3 years ago or more)..it's just been leggings and yoga pants

I used to wear levi's but...I don't like the cut now.

Men's Jeans? My problem goes the otherway - things that fit my hips and thigh don't fit my waist but that's the only solution I've been able to find.

Yea I have always had trouble finding pants that fit right! Before it used to be if it fit on my thighs and butt the waist would be HUGE and now it seems like if it's fits the waist good, it's loose every where else ( this is since having my son)... I HATE shopping for pants!

men's jeans would be my guess cause they are not built to have a smaller waist than hips...guys don't usually have a problem there

what is your waist size? what is your hip size? maybe you are shaped weird. I would go with something that fits better in the waist vs in the legs. I have a very small waist and big butt/hips (35-25-35), so I have the opposite problem. Places whose pants don't fit me right = american eagle, target, old navy. Since we have the opposite problem you should check out those stores lol. Places that fit me good = bebe, hollister, walmart (lol) <-- so you should avoid them!!

I am a little weird, but my shape isn't. It's just not hourglass.

Thanks for the store names, that somewhat helps! I am on a mission this summer to find pants that fit!

It can be pricey...but I always go to Nordstrom and try on pants. I always find something that works and that my butt isn't spilling out of, and they hem them for free. :) After losing a lot of weight, I just started congratulating myself with pricier jeans. I'm a little sad when they get too big, but I'd rather have an awesome pair of really nice fitting jeans than not.

I have a similar problem (or in my case no hips or butt).

I picked up a pair of size small cargos from a thrift store for a few dollars and they look amazing. It wasn't until I looked a bit more closely at the adjustable inside elastic that I realised they were designer maternity wear.

Not sure if you can get Lorna Jane in the US but their "flash pants" or exercise cargos with a drawstring/stretch waist band look great.

I also go for hipster or low cut styles.

I have the reverse problem: I have a big bum, so pants that fit at the hip are usually much too wide at the waist. I often buy them anyway and get them taken in by the tailor (I need to get the legs hemmed up anyway, so it's not much of an inconvenience). Perhaps you could try this, if the men's jeans suggestion doesn't work for you?

Go to Macy's and try on Grane Denim (in the Junior's department) as well as Jessica Simpson. The Jessica Simpson ones come up a little lower than I'd like on my rear, but otherwise they're my favorites along with the Grane pair.

You might also want to give GAP a try. I've become more of an hour glass figure and my waist is quite smaller than my hips, and whenever I try GAP (or Old Navy, since they're the same company and cuts are similar), there's quite a bit of extra waist room.

Old Navy! Definitely. Their jeans have that 1% spandex and gives them just enough leeway to accommodate difficult shapes. I should know... it's all that fits my ghetto booty. :)

Gloria Vanderbilt and Not your Daughters Jeans both are made to fit a womans, not a girls figure. Might be worth a try:flowerforyou: I dont have much hip/butt and they work for me.

It might also be worthwhile to get some 14s (I know :( ) and have them altered so they fit your butt.

I have just the opposite problem. I have a much smaller waist than hips/bum. So many pants that fit my around the hips are loose in the waist. I learned how to take the waist in most any pants years ago because I got tired of having to search forever for pants that fit right and pass up cute clothes that I liked.

What type of jeans did you try on? Jeans come in so many different shapes that you have to choose ones to match your body type. You could try some with a higher waist line, they tend to be more flattering for muffin top issues.

Since you're losing weight, just wear flowy tops with the 12s and soon you'll fit better into them.

These pants, I need them. My waist is much smaller than my bum, so having jeans that go in at the waist? That sounds fabulous. I will trade you!
