Morning workouts......

I am not sure if there is any truth to that, but I do notice I burn more calories (per my heart rate meter) when I worked out in the afternoon. At first I thought it was just my imagination so I did a self test. I would wake up at 6am. About 6:10 my work out starts. I would do the same 30 minute work out that I use to do at 5pm (after work). I notice that in the morning, I burned about 10% less calories on average as compared to the same work out later in the day. My theory was that in the morning, when I first put my HRM on it is reading my heart rate around 35-40. While after 5pm, it was usually reading around the 60’s. So it was taking me longer to get my heart rate up to the “zone” in the morning than it would at night. I don’t know if that is what’s causing the 10% difference.0
