Hi everyone. Just wanted to introduce myself. I actually joined last week, but since I went grocery shopping before joining I didn't have a lot of healthy food choices and got discouraged after two days of logging my menus. Today I started over again, after purchasing better foods over the weekend and I'm pretty encouraged. This time around I plan on logging no matter what I eat, the good, the bad, the ugly to make sure I see where I need to work on. Anyway...I'm 35 years old, living with my soul mate, our adorable dog, four cats and beta fish in Western Massachusetts. I have been battling my weight for years, gaining and losing depending on how much stress is going on in my life. I'm an emotional eater, so everyone knows when I'm stressed...I end up gaining 30 pounds! This time around I'm at my heaviest ever, needing to lose about 50 pounds to be comfortable again. I'm starting slow and trying to do this right, no fad diets, no starving myself. Just better food choices and trying to get my portions under control. I have been known to sit and eat a large pizza myself, so yeah....need to get those portion sizes in check! Also, I'm a Vegetarian, almost Vegan....I've been trying to cut out cheese and eggs on and off now for months, but sometimes (especially when dining out), I can't find Vegan options and just eat the stupid cheese! ugh...I tend to eat a lot of snack foods too, so that's why I'm an overweight Vegetarian! Seems everyone thinks since I don't eat meat I should be thin, but helloooo....candy bars have no meat! lol Anyway, I know what I have to do, just need to do it! So a big hello to everyone and hopefully I will be able to contribute tons to the forums!!

Welcome and good luck. You need to educate yourself on healthy eatiing. Look online for healthy recipes and watch processed and fast foods. If you go out to dinner make sure you make healthy choices. You can always ask to modify any thing on the menu. I do it and they never seem to mind. Only you can make your choices we can't do it for you. If you educate yourself you won't need anyones help. Just don't make excuses. Don't think you are going to lose all the weight you want in a week or two. Take your time and do it right. Don't listen to anyone tell you not to have this or that. It is about moderation and portion control. As long as you have the numbers in your goals you can have treats. If you have a bad day don't worry about that either, we all have them. Just learn what works for you and what doesn't. It's like a puzzle. I have made it my new hobby. My health. Again good luck.
