In Need of a BOOST

Though nowhere near goal weight, I've reached a weight where I feel more confident and happy....and now I'm starting to settle! It's been about a month now with no weight loss. While I'm consistant with my workouts, my food choices are slacking. I have a "im happier and confident..what's one Dairy Queen Blizzard going to hurt?" attitude.

What are some great mid-way boosts to keep motivation up?!

  • Try new work outs and new foods. That helps prevent boredom. Rewarding yourself with things that aren't food helps too, like a manicure.

A new goal helped me. "I have to look good for Memorial Day weekend" then it was "for the wedding on Friday". One day at a time, or for me, it was one motivational event at a time!

I too was going to suggest a new goal. My goals to start were the weight loss by my october birthday, running a 5k, fitting into a suit I once had tailored when I thought I looked good, finishing p90x, and staying fit to play hockey with the college guys.

I ran the race, and fit into the suit. Still working on the rest.

BUT, and here's the important part of my rant, I set 2 new goals. To complete a Rebel Run in September ( a 5k with obstacles) and a half marathon in October. The mini marathon goal will have me working hard on cardio(read fat loss) and the rebel run should ensure I push myself through p90x since I will need the strength for that as well as the cardio.

SO my suggestion is to set a goal that requires fitness. The goal will be fun ( a new sport, a race with friends- whatever) and you will keep working so you are ready to meet the challenge of that goal.

If you are lucky enough to have friends that share a passion for healthy living and fitness, get with them and challenge each other or have friendly bets and/or competitions...short of that, find a good, tight circle of friends on here that keep you accountable and don't necessarily give you the arbitrary "WTG" or "Good Job"...

Hockey is right on point...have something in mind...I am comtemplating doing a mud run in the future and need to train up for it. I also have a P90X round to complete, I want to tackle Insanity, and then I want to do a P90X/Insanity hybrid, and by that time, I may start run training and/or graduate to P90X2 and/or Insanity the Asylum...always look towards what you want to do down the road knowing that what you want to do down the road requires you to take care of business in the present.

DON'T SETTLE...BE THE BEST VERSION OF YOURSELF!!!
