I like myself in the morning

In the morning, before I eat, drink, or stand up, I can look at my stomach and be pretty happy with it. Then, I stand up, or eat something, and I go back to having a giant gut! I mean I know food/drink will make it stick out a little, but how do I begin the day looking like heidi klum and end it looking 8 months pregnant (I know, exaggerations on both sides, but still!) Even when I drink alot of water/not alot (or any) soda/not alot of sodium. It shouldn't make THAT big a difference, right? It goes from being concave (whee!) to me not even being able to suck it close to flat!
What gives?

well it could depend on what you are eating?

i know when i eat certain carbs my stomach feels way more bloated.. sugar does that too. so maybe looking at those two things and changing them for a couple days to see if you feel better.

    good luck! :))

Have you seen an overflowing glass of water? Liquid goes "down" until it can't and then it goes... (drum roll)... out! :drinker:

you're not alone. i wish i knew how to prevent this from happening! even when i only have fruits & veggies & non-processed foods, it happens.

I was just thinking that same thing last night...I was so happy in the morning and then through out the day the tummy expanded and erased all the pride I felt...jeez!

I so know what you mean! I look amazing in the morning and then by the time I shower around ten, I look like I'm preggers.

For me my biggest trigger is dairy. the more dairy I drink/eat, the more bloated I become. So I try to keep my dairy to a very minimum unless I absolutely have to have milk or something.

I definitely notice a difference in my tummy if I splurge on carbs! I feel your pain, I love the number on the scale and the flat tummy in the morning, until i eat :(

Kinda the same concept, when I lay on my back I am flat chested and then stand up and the breasts are even with the elbows?

That happens to me if I eat a bunch of carbs, or drink alcohol. Then I get bloated, for at least a day. If I keep to my regular eating habits, it's fine.

Great, so no carbs, alcohol, or dairy? FML! That's like 98% of my diet right there!

So totally agree. When I wake up, the first thing I do is feel my ankles and wrists. I feel so skinny compared to 2 months ago when I joined. Then I stand up and shower and eat, and it all goes down hill, literally. My ankles make me look like I weigh 200 pounds. I've talked with my doc about this. Apparently I have my family to thank for this. So frustrating.

Other than never eating or drinking anything enjoyable again, lol, does anyone have any solutions? Sit-ups? Green tea? Jumping on one foot and reciting the Gettysburg Address?

Strenghten your abs... so do ab work, lose more weight, and wear girdles now and then. Yep. Girdles reaccomodate you organs inside the cavity of your body and little by little reduce the bulge. I've used them my whole life and have no bulge (just excess fat right now)...
