Why is it important to eat your Exercise Calories?

I've heard that I should eat all of my exercise calories... why?

Look at it this way.
Lets say you eat 1200 calories.
You burn say 700 calories.
So for the rest of the day you are expecting your body to run on 500 calories.
If you make a habit out of it eventually you will start to feel it.
I generally don't eat all my exercise calories but I do try to eat enough of them to maintain a net of at least 1000 - 12000
