hi,
so i started 30 day shred and i am on level 1, 4 days. my plan was to do everyday but i have failed...
well anyway, the workout seem to be a little unbalanced as the abs and the cardio workout is easy for me but the strength kills me. i just feel like i should be getting more cardio?
is there a good cardio workout dvd that i can do WITH 30 day shred of alternate them? what do you think? should i just stick with 30 day shred?
also, i weigh 133 pounds and i am 5'3. burning more calories would be better for me. thanks

Biggest Loser Cardio Max is a good one; it uses weights, but it's a really good workout (to me, at least). Currently, though, I'm doing Shred and c25k (running is good cardio). But if you're specifically wanting to stick with DVDs, I'd suggest that one.0

I dont know for sure and was kind of wondering the same. I am on day 6 and really wanna stick with it but dont want to give up running either since I am just getting into it.
Yesterday and today I ran before doing the video, it was a killer, but I feel so good and I got through the whole thing. I am going to keep up with other workouts, especially jogging as much as I can without feeling too horrible. My coworker goes on major power walks, so I am going to join her tomorrow since I think running needs a break, but I will see.
I am interested in what others say and good luck on your shred!!0 -

I am almost finished w/ 30DS ... I usually swim or walk daily also. My big complaint was that my abs never hurt so I didn't think it was working but then the changes started happening! Level 3 is my favorite level and my abs were finally sore good luck to you!0

I just finished day 7 for me and it's getting much easier, but I am also keeping up with my daily 3.5 mile walk/run0

thanks for the reply guys. yea, i would really prefer to run but i don't have a gym membership and i work until 9pm usually so i don't want to go out for a run in the dark. i'm also living in a relatively new area so i don't know much about the neighborhood.
i am thinking of mixing up 30 day shred with either the cardio workouts in p90x (cardio x, kenpo x, etc... this may be too hard), biggest loser: cardio max, or jillian's banish fat
which ones do you guys think is the best?
i would probably do 30 day shred everyday, yoga or ballet conditioning twice a week, and a cardio workout 3 times a week.
do you think this is a good plan? if not, i might just do a cardio work out everyday instead of 30 day shred... ahhh i don't know what to do!
thanks!0 -
The only video of those that I have done is the 30 Day Shred, and I'm onto my third time. I really recommend that you stick with it. The first time around I found it quite difficult and my results weren't visibly major, but the foundation it built was amazing. For the first time ever I had ab muscle (even though it's protected by a layer of fat...) and biceps. It was very empowering, and now that I'm doing it again with the next size weight and I have the energy to get through it all, I feel that it is making a noticeable difference. Today, I felt my shorts jumping with me during the jumping jacks, rather than my belly. It was wonderful. My second time around I actually only did 30DS every second day and ran on my days off. If you have the time to get through your plan, I think it sounds good. You have 30 DS (cardio/strength), yoga (strength), and additional cardio, just don't forget to take a break now and then! Give your muscles a chance to recover so you don't run yourself ragged.
Best of luck to you!0 -
thanks so much! i will most likely stick with 30 day shred then.
any ideas of cardio workout? which of the ones i have listed about could sort of be an alternative to running?0 -
I love cardio max and BFBM. Switch it up. U can do any of those for some extra cardio with the Shred. I switch between those and running. Also, I like the Shape 20 minute makeover for quick cardio. Just do whatever u feel comfortable doing. If it's too much, then skip a day. If it doesn't feel like enough do more.0
