I'm on day 80 of the "90 Day Fitness Challenge" at my gym. I've worked to make a lifestyle change, have been working with a personal trainer, and have been logging every day on MFP (even those days when I screw up royally). It's been a frustrating journey in that I've lost a measely 6 lbs...and this is working harder and being more educated about my metabolism and fitness than ever before. That being said, while the scale has been stubborn, I've gotten some good feedback:
1) Made Good Choices: My wife was out for a quilting retreat this weekend. A year ago, a weekend alone was an invitation to play video games all day and then order out for a large pan pizza (which I could down all by my lonesome). This weekend, I didn't order out once and had a bangarang workout on Saturday.
2) Two co-workers commented last week that they can see a visible improvement.
3) Here's the big one. On my first workout with a trainer, I could barely eek out 10 push-ups...and while embarrassed I must admit that the last six were on my knees. I had to go with less intense ab exercises, and I could only do two sets of 20 second planks. Yesterday, I completed 10 pushups between sets of my first three exercises to total 100 on the day. Did 105 crunches between sets (as in these push-ups and crunches are in rapid succession with other exercises), and then did four complete sets of 50 second planks (including switching to side planks).
The scale may not be my friend right now...but my mind, spirit and body are all showing improvement.
Hopefully I'll have pictures to share at the 90 day mark.
