hi,

how can i continue to lose weight. even though I can't excercise? I fell yesterday and hurt my knee.

    Hi Rita! If you have some small weights at home, you can do some upper body sculpting. Muscles help to burn fat off faster. Maybe one day do Bicep curls and chest press and the other day work on your triceps and Lats?

    I feel your pain! I broke my ankle 10 weeks ago, exactly a week after I picked up running again, bought myself a bike and decided that I really needed to lose weight!!
    The most important thing to remember is that if your movement is limited you need to reduce your food intake as you're not burning as much.
    I've been doing a lot of ab workouts (from the 10 minute solutions "Blast Off Belly Fat" DVD as 3 out of 5 are done sitting or lying down so no pressure on ankles - there are some exercise done on all fours but you could skip those).
    When i'm watching telly in the evening I often lay down on the floor and do sit ups / crunches / leg raises to burn a few extra calories.
    Also, if you are using crutches to move around you burn a lot of calories simply hobbling about - especially going up stairs!!
    Or if you want to exercise and feel like your injury may last a little more than a couple of weeks borrow or buy some crutches to help get around and tone up your arms and lower back (bye bye love handles!)

    i have a knee brace i feel secure with that on. I will still workout and hold onto the trendmill. No resistance training today :(.

    If you're able to use the treadmill using a knee brace perhaps you could try swimming (wearing the brace providing it wouldn't be ruined by the water obviously) something like front or back crawl wouldn't involve a lot of movement front the knee and still burns a lot of calories and gives a suprising amount of muscles a workout!

    Can't excercise can't bend my knee. So I'm just watching what i'm eating and drinking water.
