Coming from a vegetarian....


People DON'T read, true, but a lot of people aren't quite sure what a vegetarian DOES eat. I was served chicken one time (after I told the host I was vegetarian), and she said "Chicken isn't meat, they are fowl!" Some people eat fish and consider themselves vegetarian. It makes things tricky for the rest of the vegetarian population.

When I was vegan, I used to get the same....but I sort of understood that because a lot of people have a hard time getting their heads around things like eggs, dairy and honey (and I don't actually believe it's possible to be 100% vegan in the 21st century).

Although I don't eat meat, per se, I no longer call myself vegetarian because I've recently introduced shellfish into my diet, although I eat veggie 99% of the time. But I completely see your point about people who call themselves vegetarian yet eat fish....must be very confusing for omnivores!
