so i have decided to set a new goal. i want to be 125 by 12/25. has a ring to it right? i have lost 40 lbs in the last year. i went from 180 size 16 to 140 size 6/8. unfortunatley im at 144lb right now and that is why ive decided to set a new goal and refocus my self. i had fallen off the wagon for about 5 months but i was hanging onto the edge of it. I didnt fall completley. just stopped exercising and made some bad foos choices occasionally.

i have started exercising again 4 days a week. today i did a 5 mile jog and did a cleaning job that is alot of scrubbing and moving for 90 minutes. i burned so many calories and i feel so good. i knew i enjoyed my jogs on the beach, but life/work just got in the way. Well not anymore!!

SO 125 pounds BY 12/25/08!!!!!! anyone else wanna join me??

Well, I'd like to be 125 before 12/25, but the last 10 (or 11 in my case) are the hardest to get off, so I'm not expecting it much sooner than that! I can't have a huge deficit either because of my training. So I would like to join you!

hey ladies welcome. so our christmas present to ourselves is too hit our goal. i think it sounds great!!

i have 19lbs to get to 125 ans i know i can do it with hard work and determination. my only fear at this very moment is i quit smoking a week ago. so im afraid of how that is going to affect me. but what im doing might be good. when i get a craving i chug a glass of water. if that doesnt help i will eat 1 DUMDUM lolipop, if that doesnt help i do 20 jumping jacks or go for a quick walk if its daytime. im soo afraid of putting that weight back on because of not smking but im gonna do my bestest!!

Congratulations! Have you considered investing in the gum or the prescription that helps you quit?

My mom has smoked for something like 20 years now, and although she quit cold turkey when she was pregnant with my sister and me, she was never able to quit any other time. I know it's realllllly hard, but I think the difference is that you WANT to do it and you have a ton of support!

Quitting smoking doesn't automatically cause weight gain...it's just that many smokers need to keep their mouths busy, so they end up snacking a lot, which causes the gain. As long as you stay on track, you have nothing to worry about!

I will be soooo happy when I get back to the 120's! It will make running much easier too, not having to lug around 10 extra lbs for all of these miles.

thank you-- i have never been in the 120's actually i have never been in the 140's, until now and almost 130's yipeee. i have always been overweight borderline obese. my entire family is obese. and i dont wanna be that way.

i quit smiking with both of my pregnancies but have always went back to it. i told my self i would quit by the time i turned 30, so this is my start, i think i will be succesful. hey i never thought i could lose this weight and i have done pretty well with that so far.

i know i think about when i first started jogging OMG and now its still a little tuff but being 125, i will look like those other ladies on the beach in their sports bras and short shorts running and looking so i good. i exercise my best at the beach it truely is one of my best motivators.

I reached my heaviest 4 years ago in my Senior year of HS...got up to 154. Last year I was at 129 briefly, but my body fat was actually pretty high. I've been in the 130's and even up to the 140's since then. I do focus mainly on body fat loss, but with the miles I'll be putting in after a few weeks of training I'll be losing some of my muscle mass (that's a big sacrifice, hard to think of! :ohwell: but necessary.)

You're so lucky you're on the beach! I have to run on sidewalk...ow. The view can be pretty out here though, if I turn right at the end of my street I am out in the farmlands...if I turn left I'm on the campus of Virginia Tech hehe.

Oh I didn't even think about my miles!

    *checking miles on training plan*.....

Ohh....looks like over 200..... ....Hm, I don't think I'm going to track those. I don't like to think about how much effort that's going to take. :ohwell:

But I'll cheer you on! :drinker:

Thanks songbyrd! I has some minor sx on my foot. Doc yelled at me for jogging. I told him tuff sh...Beans. He said the weight loss will truly help the foot issues, but I shouldnt jog. I laughed and told him I walk 2 minutes and spring 60 seconds. he said this was awsome.

I did my 1st mile in 12 minutes, and I am soooooo proud of that. Also did 3 instead of 2 miles in 47 minutes.

I am also wondering if 22 pounds in 3 months is possible. I am post menapausal and dont lose weight quickly. 1 pound 7-10 days. So maybe I should not set a goal I cannot physically acheive.

    So

135 pounds by January 35. (sounds better than February 5 !!!) :glasses:

arewethereyet, that sounds like a good idea. If you surpass your goal, it's great, but it's definitely healthier physically and mentally to strive for something you feel is truly attainable.

Should we do weekly weigh-ins? Maybe starting tomorrow?
