Lost 3.6 lbs my FIRST week!!!

I have set a goal to loose 1 lb a week so that MAYBE I will be able to keep it off this time. I feel so good since I lost my first week. With just starting and learning this journey I didn't know how I would do.

A lot of folks loose big the first few weeks - your body is reacting and adjusting to the changes, maybe some of it is water weight. Then it slows down and many people get frustrated and quit. Loosing big the first few weeks is inspiring, but can be a double-edged sword also. When the quick pounds stop and the one pound every 2 weeks starts, it is easy to get discouraged. Be ready for it and don't let it spook you.0

You will do well, because you are setting a reasonable goal. We all love it when we make our goal; and we all hate it when we miss. But, the journey starts with a single step; and it looks like you are getting started with a positive attitude, and a reasonable goal. The weight didn't come on in a couple months; it's unrealistic to expect it to permenently go away in a couple months.
I fully expect it to take well over a year, possibly two for me to get to my goal. This is a lifestyle change, and changing a lifestyle after a lifetime of eating whatever I want, whenever I want - well, that's a very comfortable, lazy and easy lifestyle to return to. Learning to exercise, and eat healthily and make decisions is a skillset I've never had to face; and now that I am facing the consequences of a lifetime of bad decisions, I'm surprised to find that not only am I enjoying the empowerment of knowing and controlling what I eat, I'm feeling better than I have in years.0
