Does anybody else got scared as they approached their goal? I'm a lousy one who lets the scale dictate her mood for the day. Not only do I weight in daily and take seriously every pound up (as if I didn't know that eating something salty in the evening influences my water weight and that not everything the scale shows is 100% real). Anyhow, when I get where I wanted to get I have a horrible time to just "maintain". Has anyone succeeded in that? I only maintain when I wanna lose weight! (plateau they call it, I know)

Something tells me that I'm in the wrong corner of the world for this webpage. By the time you guys turn your computers on, my thread has slipped on a different page and noone's there to answer. Argh

Thanks, Amanda, but when you wanna lose only 6 pounds (shame on me, others lose this much in a couple of weeks), then breaking in into smaller steps means maintaining  As said, I'm not good at doing that...

I understand. Losing a small amount of weight is pretty tough. I get frustrated because when I was alot heavier I made the slightest change and would drop weight. Now I'm down to my final amount and each pound seems like it takes ages to come off. I just like to think that is my body's way of telling me, "You're close to where you're supposed to naturally be!"

Its funny that you bring this up, though, as I was thinking about it this morning in the shower. For the first time in 4 years (when I dropped 35 lbs.) I actually feel motivated to eat healthy and work out. I'm in a good place doing this. But I'm so scared that when I reach the goal I won't know how to maintain. Ahh!! So we're in the same boat!

I have read somewhere ( I don't think it was here) that your body gets "satisfied" at a certain weight. Your body feels like that's where it's suppose to be and we have to lose where WE want to be and then keep maintaining that (working at it) for a few more weeks/months to get your body used to being at THAT new weight. After sometime, your body adjust to feeling "at home" at the weight YOU want and then you don't have to work at it so much. I wish I knew where I read that b/c it was a really good article and I've tried to sum it up, but it explained it probably a lot better. Hope this helps and makes sense to you. Don't stress on it too much:wink:

Thanks, clewliss. :flowerforyou: I'm definitelly less clueless now.

Stressing over it is what I do over almost everything :grumble: . Like, this is my second negative thread and guess when the previous one was? Exactly 27 days ago. Does that suggest anything?

    Once again, thanks!

rethun01, we can do it! Follow clewliss' advice and succeed. Right? I know we can!
