Happy Weekend!

I can't decide what to do today - bike/walk or gym. It's been a while since I've been to the gym, but there is one errand I could run on my bike. Yesterday was a 90 minute bike ride. I don't think I'll ever really get into biking; it's too expensive and I just don't like going in circles that much - which is odd, since I don't mind the treadmill or the elliptical. I like running errands though - makes me feel European.

The film crew yesterday was a little overwhelming. I could have gardened at 11pm it was so bright and there were people everywhere. I ended up falling asleep without too much problem though.

Have some stress relieving workouts today!

Mary

ps. So you know how I was craving sweets yesterday? Well, I was tempted by this "5 minute microwave chocolate cake" a friend sent me, but decided against it. Then, husband comes home and can't stop talking about a new cup cake place he went to. Did he bring me one? No. Just wanted to tell me how good they were.

I will! I am going to a "butt-kicker" class at my gym later this morning. It is Bosu Circuit Training and I am usually dying half way through it. There is no room left in my body for stress when class is over!

I don't think I'll get structured exercise in today. . .but lots of walking and lifting of children.

So, long story short. . .my husband is 17 years older than me, which is how I'm the youngest gramma on the block. I'm a bit nervous because they're coming to the apartment today. . .and nothing is remotely child-proof and they're at that "into everything" stage. If there's an opposite of child-proof, my house is it. I've been buzzing around this a.m. placing non age-appropriate things on high shelves, and trying to figure out what could potentially harm a child. (everything.) Last night I enforced a rule on the parents that the kids cannot let go of a grown-ups hand. Ever. In the big city, especially at ten pm (they'd been in the car all day, and we went for a walk around the long block in one of the most bustling parts of town)
So, I'm a bit stressed as I feel like the safety officer.

Again, Moms. . .you are my heroes!

Take care of yourselves! (moms and non-moms alike!):flowerforyou:

Mary, you did better than I did about the sweets! I had...ahem...1.75 pieces of cake last night. I started to feel sick through the second one from eating too much. DUH! But at least I knew it was bothering me from eating it. It didn't used to. I just don't eat stuff like that very often so I get excited! If I'd used my brain I would have remembered I have another party to go to on Monday and I would get another piece then.
Viv, try to enjoy your grandkids. I know they can be a handful. Honestly, Alex doesn't get into any trouble, so I know I have it pretty easy. He gets into trouble, but doesn't get IN TO trouble. He just acts up, but he doesn't get into cabinets or pick up scissors or anything like that. But remember that it is a phase and that they will only be there a short while.
I had to run errands this morning. I need to get off here and get some other stuff done so I am not working all day! I did my push ups and failed to complete the last two. My legs gave out believe it or not.
I may take Alex to the park to walk and eat lunch again (I don't know. Kinda windy. I don't really like being in the wind.)and then I will Shred when he's down for a nap.
Oh and the scale was still under 150 this morning! I can tell my abs are getting smaller! Something is working! I have to say I think a lot of it is due to the push ups.
Okay I'm done rambling! Happy day!

Good luck, Grandma - I know the feeling! We went out with some friends and their 2 year daughter awhile ago, and when they were dropping us off, she asked to come inside. OK... I figured, why not? Within the space of about 30 seconds, she managed to run over to a side table, pick up a foreign coin from a pile that I had left there, run over to our drum set controller for 'Rock Band', and stick it right into the little space between the top and bottom of one of the drum heads so that it fell inside. Clearly, my house is NOT child-proof! :noway:

I'm still feeling blah from my cold. Did pushups last night and managed a walk. Probably just another walk this afternoon. Happy weekend! :flowerforyou:

    Hi Everyone!

Excuse my delayed response -- Mary -- what film crew? What's going on over there?

Just got back from our shoot, took yesterday off from exercise and already got 80% of my workout done for the day. I'd like to get in another 20 minutes of cardio, so maybe I'll squeeze in a Shrd video before the end of the day.

I'm sooooo excited -- got a 90 minute massage planned for the end of the day, and then heading to TX tomorrow to see my dad and kick back on his ranch for a long weekend. I'm planning lots of active stuff like hiking, walking and hopefully even a little riding.

    Talk soon!

They were filming a commercial. We got a little "annoyance money" for it.

Ha! As one one the other side, doing the annoying, I'm glad to hear you got something for it! At least it was a commercial, so not so long. After about two weeks I start to having to avoid the poor people whose lives we are disrupting 24/7. Glad to hear you got a little sumpin sumpin!
