i have a mate who is trying to loose weight. she has about 30kg to loose.
it should be quicker for her to loose weight cause there is abit to loose however she isnt loosing as quickly as i thoguht.
i mean she is doing sooooooo well lost about 9kg in about 2months but being over 100kg i thought it would melt of quicker.
my only reason i think this is because she has upped her exercise to actually doing exercise and going to gym, and doing interval running and strength training and working out most night with about 400-600calories burned!
so im thinking its her diet. it looks pretty flawless, however i just think she isnt eating enough!! she thinks that low calorie intake food wise is better, but im trying to explain to her that if your working out burning 600calories you need to eat more.
this is an example of afew typical days???
B-sultana bran and milk
S-Mandarin
L- roll with tomato and cheese toasted
S- bodywise bar and apple
D- chicken wellingtons with vegies
B – sultana bran, milk
S – banana, bodywise bar
L – 6 seed roll, tuna, tomato, avocado & a mandarin
S – apple, nuts and grains, 1 rivita
D – Pumpkin Soup
b- sultana bran n milk
s – berocca, body wise bar
l – 3 ryvitas with tuna
s – mandarin
d – unsure. Haven’t got anything out. So maybe a 6 seed roll with vegemite?
what does everyone think so i can try and tell her???

How many calories is this? If it is under 1200 thats your reason. What about water? And how much protein are they eating?
Really need more info to give some good advise!
Best of luck!0 -
I'm not a dr., or a dietician, or anything like that, but I'm pretty sure she's under-eating.0

I think she needs to eat more as well.0

i'd suggest that she jumps on here and reads the beginner threads... maybe log her food for those three days and see what she's actually eating.
i know that i always thought that if i just cut down on my food and exercised well, the weight would drop off - i started out at 135kg. it wasn't the case, and I have struggled for a year until finding this site two months ago. seriously changed my outlook on fueling my body - and while i still can't wrap my head around eating exercise cals completely, i know that when my net drops below about 1000, my weight loss stops.
seeing it in front of you every day, being able to look back on your food diary at the end of the week - it seriously is the best tool. plus, it's free. no excuses!!!0 -
Yep, looks like she needs to eat more in general & needs more protein.

Regardless of the diet you wrote out there, 9kg is about 20 pounds, yeah? 10 pounds a month for 2 months in a row seems pretty fast to me.0

she is only really eating a plam size of protein at dinner like it shows on the examples not much. i think her days food comes in about 1000-1200 then you take off exercise??
yeah i agree she is loosing weight, but weeks she will just stay the same. and i mean she is working out 1hr at the gym nearly every night.??
i tohguht she would have lost more than that. it might be just under 4kgs a month??
i dunno, we eamil everyday and tell eachother our menus for the day and everyday she write 1hr at the gym and then has like 3 crackers with tuna for lunch and veg for dinner. seems too less thats all??0 -
To me and my personal trainer friend, it sounds like over training and under eating. He thinks around 1500-1700 calories a day for the ladies and about an hour a day of exercise are the ticket to being healthy. At least he tells me if you do that everyday you don't have to worry about being overweight. I'm not too sure if it works because I don't exercise every day.0
