HI

So when it comes to all this nutrition stuff, I have to say I draw a blank.

the problem of today, or well the last week really is that i'm falling under my protein limit and i've just started doing some strength workouts to build some upper body muscle after quite frankly never even doing anything for that part of my body EVER before.

i'm not a huge meat eater - i don't like tofu and i really dislike most beans. and really, i don't know what else protein is in. my question is that would adding some type of protein powder to my diet be a good idea?

i know a lot of recipes on blogs i enjoy use protein powder in them (like a breakfast pancake which sounds nice or a protein muffin/snack ball) and a lot of recipes for protein smoothies/shakes but i have always been wary about using it because i was always more of a cardio girl and didn't see the need for it.

basically i'm asking for advice and wanting someone to pat my head and say i wont get fat from the extra protein xD!

Extra calories make you fat, not extra protein. I use powders looking for one with little carbs and fat.

Greek yogurt non-fat has lots of protein per serving as well.

You should be looking to get 1 gram of protein for each pound of lean body weight.

As said before, too many calories makes you fat. Just be sure to enter your calories from protein like you enter the other food you consume.

I use this protein and would recommend it.
