I think I'm going to throw up. . .

I've been doing the 30 day shred for a few weeks now, and everytime I get past the second set, I really feel like I'm going to throw up. I've tried working out in the morning, at night, eating a light snack before, and on an empty stomach, and nothing works. I try my best to finish most of the time, but sometimes I have to stop and sit before I get sick or pass out. I don't get like this when I'm on the treadmill or anything like that. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!

are you hydrated? i've felt like that when i've been dehydrated or exercised on an empty stomach. ♥

Have you tried doing the "beginner" versions of the exercises or doing all the movements without the weights. You can try either or both of those then move up as you get better at it.

I've never done 30DS so I don't know what it asks of you but with pushups or deadlifts or anything like that make sure that you're keeping your head above your heart.
  • Definitely keep hydrated. How many days have you been doing it and what level? I would also make sure you are breathing correctly.

I did level 1 for about 8 days and then bumped it up to level 2. And I try to breath as correctly as possible :)

Weird. Here am I thinking the 30DS is a piece of cake... I agree with eates and Hessteria. Focus on breathing! And definitely back off a little if you feel this way. There's no shame in modifying even the beginner exercises. That's what I did with my first 30 days when I was 270ish pounds. You'll get better at this. :) If all else fails, there's nothing wrong with just continuing your runs and doing strength training/toning on the side.

I am the same way with the Tae Bo Cardio I am doing... I have to stop and break before the cool down because I feel like I'm going to be sick! I have never sweat so hard!! I think we both are just pushing our bodies really hard and maybe need to ease up just a bit for now... and I am very hydrated so that's not the issue with me :P

I'm old school. Press pause, throw up and get back to it. *

*This does not work for everyone.
  • I'm still in level one and just finished day six. I considered it a milestone that I am not in pain before I begin. Must admit that I am a bit scared to start level two. I know it's time to at least try. I know what you mean about breathing as correctly as possible. Seems like I am fine until she tells me how to breath. :) Then I have to reset and I think about it too much. Bleh. Does anyone know... Should you eat before or after a workout?
  • LOL!
  • the 30 day shred is VERY exhausting. try taking sall 10 second breaks in between, pause the video if you have to. take small sips of water. maybe your body isn't used to combining strength and cardio!

Lessen your intensity. Do every movement a little smaller, a little less energetic. You are likely running out of oxygen because your body isn't up to par yet.
