By midnight (or later), If I haven't met my caloric goal of 1,200 calories should I just go to bed or should I try to consume those calories?

How far short are you and how hungry are you? You could always consume a bit more tomorrow - calorie zig-zagging is a common practice.

I'm 328 under and I'm not too hungry, I finished working out at 11:30pm and had a biscuit with peanut butter right after.
  • well you should be fine. :)

if you arent hungry its not gonna kill your for one day for eating less than 1200

when i had my calories at 1200 i would sometime try to get around 1100 calories and leave it as that. but there were days where i couldnt get near that.. sometime i was around 300 to 400 calories under and i wasnt hungry.

it didnt hurt me at all to eat less than that.

if you eat less one day sometimes you go over on other days... and that helps along with working out.
Do what you feel is comfortable.

Wouldnt want to make you eat if you arent hungry
But try to make sure you eat within the 2 to 3 hours. :)

But tonight i would leave it as that if i was in the same position.
plus i dont really like to eat anything before i go to sleep.. at least 2 to 3 hours before i head to bed.

Hope this tips helps a bit

I agree that it shouldn't matter all that much. I just wanted to also add that there is really no reason to be afraid of eating right before bed if you do happen to be hungry. A lot of people have heard the myth that you shouldn't eat within 3 hours of bedtime or it will turn to fat, but it simply isn't true. As long as you are within your calorie goal, it doesn't matter all that much when you eat it.
