just wondering .... stuffed pepper recepies are so good for you and look fantastic, but i hate peppers!!

tomatoes can be shelled ou in somewhat the same way... just curious, anyone ever tried to make some great tomato recepies?

    Servings Ingredients
    6fresh tomatoes
    1/2tsp salt , to taste (optional)
    1cup whole milk
    1tbsp white whole wheat flour
    12oz Turkey, ground, 8% fat, raw , cooked (1 3/4 cups)
    1/2cup fresh chopped celery
    1/4cup fresh chopped green onion
    1/2cup shredded cheddar cheese
    1/2tsp salt , to taste (optional)
    1/4tsp black pepper



    Directions
    1 Preheat oven to 375°F.
    2 Cut tops off of tomatoes, scoop out pulp, leaving the shells intact.
    3 Sprinkle inside of tomato shells with salt, and invert on paper towels to drain.
    4 In small saucepan, combine milk and flour, stirring to blend.
    5 Bring to boil, reduce heat, and stirring consistently, cook mixture until thicken and smooth.
    6 Add turkey, celery, onions, cheese, salt, and pepper.
    7 Spoon turkey mixture into tomato shells.
    8 Place stuffed tomatoes in 13" x 9" x 2" baking dish. Bake 20 minutes, or until heated through.

    Options
    They are more tender then a pepper so you need to either change the cooking time or cook the filler first and then broil it.
    Or just eat it mushy whatever.
