Tea or Water?

I drink several cups of unsweetened tea every day. Practically speaking, this is essentially water. Do people count their tea intake as tea (with minimal calories) or as water? I've done both, but I am interested in hearing what other people do.
Thanks.

i count my tea as water.... but that is also because i dont like straight water. BUT when you put the 0 calories mixes in a water bottle they still consider that water. So i dont see the difference :)

Unsweet tea is ok... I wouldn't count it.

I personally wouldn't worry about the calories from it. But, tea does have caffeine. There was a time when I counted my tea as water too, but now only water counts as water. I notice a HUGE difference in the way I feel when drinking water vs. anything else. I jumped on the "water is the best thing for you," bandwagon.

I count herbal tea caffeine free as water, as well as I drink a lot of hot water with lemon.

I drink unsweetened tea occasionally, but do not count it as water. I only count water as water....and I typically drink 12 glasses a day....spread out over the day. I just keep a 32 oz insulated jug with me at all times. I DO occasionally add lemon juice or lime juice to my water, and sometimes add some stevia too if I'm craving something sweet.

I was just reading about this very topic!

"For the average person, the general recommendation of eight glasses per day is fine. Tap water is fine for fluid replacement. However, it's important to remember that alcoholic and caffeinated beverages only count for half due to increased loss of fluid from them. "
