Hey All,

I'm in physical therapy for my fractured foot and I was told I'm NOT allowed to gettin the treadmill or elliptical. I can't bare weight on my foot. I'm gaining weight b/c I've been in a boot for 7 wks. Now that I'm free of the boot I'm trying to gain back my strength, etc.

What exercises would you recommend that'll keep pressure off my R foot? I want to tone my arms, thighs, belly and butt (typical woman parts).

Thank You

Hey I was in the position last month and took the boot off beginning this month. My foot is still sore... I completely stopped working which I regret... You can do pushups decline... So you are not putting pressure on your foot. I could do the rowing machine.. just pushed off with my heel. I haven't been able to run much even though I have been cleared. Since it is still sore.. I do the elliptical... I was running and doing Jillian and I was getting really good results then had to quit boo.. You can swim as well... You can do some weight bearing exercises.

Swimming is a great exercise, as long as the doctor/physical therapist will clear you for it!

Definitely ask your physical therapist what's best. I'm going to guess that he/she will recommend the pool, but I can never know for sure. Please ask before doing anything that is recommended here. :)
