So I caught part of the show this morning where Rachael was talking to the author of the book "Cinch" (she also wrote "The Flat Belly Diet" book) I guess she is a registered dietician/nutritionist. And she showed how to plan meals using "5 pieces to a puzzle" to get all the right combinations of foods in each of 4 meals each day. She also recommends using foods with lots of antioxidants and says you MUST eat dark chocolate everyday!! I like that part, lol, and do eat dark chocolate on a lot of my days!

Anyways, just wondering if anyone else has heard about this book or read it yet and what your thoughts are?

No, but I'm intrigued! Might have to check it out at the book store.

I watched a TV spot on it. It looks like solid advice - it's basically just portion control & healthy foods.

So I know this is an old post; but I highly recommend reading this book. I have read it, and plan to participate in the plan. I have a friend who did it and LOVED it. The book is eye-opening. It creates a plan for you based on whole foods that are plant-based. This is the key to the plan. For those who think this is a fad diet, think again. This book opens your eyes to the reasons you should eat a plant-based diet, rather than a meat-based diet.

    Definitely a good read.
  • Just searched forums to see who else might have read Cinch!. I am on day 5 of the Fast Forward plan and lost 6lbs so far. I also started making some Cinch friendly meals in the days leading up to my Fast Forward which helped me drop a little more (about 2lbs).

I love no counting/journals (unless you WANT to write things down), going on 4 balanced meals every 3-5 hours, mainly "clean" eating, learning to substitute things here and there to allow for real-world indulgences, etc.

Already planing a dinner at a friend's tomorrow and she'll do the lean protein (salmon), I'm doing a kale/brussel sprout salad (Produce/fat from almonds) and a whole wheat cousous filled with great spices/herbs (the SASS part of the plan).

My 25 days of "core" eating will end right before my 40th birthday next month and I am excited to pick out a new dress to wear! Then taking it further to see how using these puzzle piecse might help me get towards something I haven't weighed since i was 14 years old (which was a bit heavy for my age, but at this age, will be JUST fine).
