Hi, I'm looking for healthy meal ideas that can be shared with my hubby and two small boys (3&1) any suggestion or recipes I'd love to hear, thanks!

This is a good place to start. These are good family pleasing recipes and some are budget-friendly as well. I add extra veggies and frozen veggies in these recipes(beef pepper steak I use 2 bagsof frozen onion and pepper mix and the primavera one I use 2 bags frozen Italian veg or frozen 2 bags broc/cauliflower mix). I also make my own dressings and such.

I do Manwhich with ground turkey rather then hamburger, it is pretty low in calories and my boys and husband love it as much as I enjoy lower calories for dinner. I have also done BBQ Chicken and Potato's and carrots for the boys and just had carrots myself. Good Luck!

    OK - I'll bite.

This dish is actually pretty healthy, but pretty tasty too. Polynesian Sausage:

    Ingredients:
2 Polska Turkey kielbasas (I like Hillshire Farm - very lean)
    1/2 onion, diced
2 bell peppers (pick your favorite colors), sliced
1 cup cubed pineapple, drained (optional - my wife leaves it out)
1/4 cup reduced sugar grape jelly/preserves
    1/4 cup bbq sauce

Cut the kielbasa into 1/4" slices and brown in large skillet (use non-fat cooking spray if you don't have nonstick) over medium heat. Add onion and peppers and cook until onions are translucent, stirring frequently. Add pineapple (if desired), jelly and bbq sauce and toss to coat, cooking until sauce is warm. Serve with or over rice.

Serves 8, about 210 calories per 7 oz serving (not including rice)

Kids will at least eat the meat and the pineapple...perhaps if adventurous they will try the peppers too!
